As with every band the story starts way before a single song was thought about!

The Saving Grace is no exception.

To give the full picture we would have to go back to 1990, which was the year Paul (Webb), and Rob (Kearns) met for the first time. Over this time both Paul and Rob have worked upon numerous projects and have found their song-writing partnership to be something they continually keep coming back to.

A pure love of music is what drives this process and this is the basis of The Saving Grace. With "the Song" being at the heart of the band it's no surprise the sound is based on good hooks and sing-along-choruses you will find yourself humming.

The project initially started as a songwriting excersice with a view to building up a catalogue of songs to publish and sell. Initially the thought of just songwriting was far more attractive than chasing a record deal as a band.

As time progressed it became very apparent it may be worth trying to put some kind of band around what was being written, if only to see what the songs may sound like as a finished product. It was only a question of time before one thing would lead to another and the prospect of recording and trying the new batch of songs on the public would finally result in a band Propper!

Mark ( Lomas ) has worked with both Paul and Rob in the past, but never together and was the first choice for bass. His style & 'groove' were exactly what the new batch of songs would need.
Mark had recently been in "The Parks" with Paul and is the first time to officially be working with Rob.

With the songwriting team growing in strength, it was time to record. Andy "C-Dog" Cotterill was drafted in to record several songs and the results have resulted in "basic /acousitc " versions of "Rule the World" and "Writings on the Wall" being available to listen to on the bands Myspace page.

The final piece of the puzzle fell into place when Tim (Ferriday) joined on Drums. His craft, skills, energy & youth have added another strong cog to the engine.

The band now believe they have the songs & style to release a new sound into Shrewsbury & beyond. Not a sound they are trying to copy, emulate or chase, just THEIR sound.

Stay tuned!
